A casino mat is what turns any table into a real gaming table: the betting areas are printed, the cards glide, the chips stop rolling and the evening instantly feels like a casino floor. But between an English roulette layout, a half-moon blackjack mat and a craps layout, the right choice depends on the game, the table and how often you play. Here is how to choose.
One mat per game: which one do you need?
Every casino game has its own layout. A roulette mat is useless for blackjack, and vice versa. Start with the game you will play most often.
Roulette mat
The roulette mat reproduces the grid of numbers from 0 to 36 and the even-money bets (red/black, odd/even, low/high), plus columns and dozens. Two versions exist: the English (European) roulette mat with a single zero, and the American roulette mat with a double zero. In Europe, single zero is by far the most common. If you run an evening with a wheel, check that the mat matches the wheel: a single-zero wheel with a double-zero mat leaves one box that will never be used. The standard size for a table of 6 to 8 players is 130 x 80 cm, rectangular.

Blackjack mat
The blackjack mat is recognisable by its half-moon shape and its 5 to 7 betting spots arranged in an arc facing the dealer. The rule "Dealer must draw to 16 and stand on 17" and the insurance payout are often printed on it, which helps occasional players. The 140 x 70 cm half-moon suits a 5-player table; the 180 x 90 cm and the XL 200 x 100 cm suit 7 players. If your table is rectangular, a rectangular mat with the blackjack layout works just as well.

Craps mat
Craps is played on a long rectangular table. The mat shows the pass line, the don't pass line, the field, the number bets and the proposition bets in the centre. It is the densest layout of all casino games: choose a generous size so that players can place their chips without spilling over into neighbouring areas, and leave room for the dice to roll.
Baccarat mat (punto banco)
Only three betting areas: Player (Punto), Banker (Banco) and Tie, repeated for each seat. The baccarat mat is the easiest to read, which makes it a good choice for themed evenings where nobody knows the rules.
Boule mat
La boule is roulette's little sister, with only 9 numbers and even-money bets. Its mat is more compact and easier to read, ideal for fun casinos, fairs and corporate events where everyone has to understand the game in thirty seconds.
Poker and Ultimate poker mats
Poker mats come in oval, rectangular, square or round shapes depending on the table. For Ultimate Texas Hold'em, played against the house, there is a dedicated layout with the Ante, Blind, Trips and Play areas.

Chuck-a-luck mat
Chuck-a-luck is played with three dice in a cage. The mat shows the six faces and the betting combinations. A fairground classic, very popular at fun casino events.
Felt or neoprene jersey: which material?
This is the second criterion, and it changes everything in terms of feel and lifespan.
- Felt: the classic casino table material. Velvety look, good card glide, affordable price. It lies flat on the table or is stapled onto a top. On the downside, it is not non-slip and shows stains more easily.
- Neoprene jersey: a printed fabric bonded to a 2 to 3 mm rubber underlay. The mat does not slide on the table, rolls up without creasing, wipes clean with a sponge and withstands repeated evenings. The print is sharper, with full-colour layouts. This is the material we recommend for intensive use: clubs, associations, fun casino operators, rental.
For occasional private use, felt is enough. As soon as the mat comes out several times a month or travels, choose neoprene jersey.
Which mat size for which table?
| Game | Players | Recommended size |
|---|---|---|
| Blackjack | 5 | Half-moon 140 x 70 cm |
| Blackjack | 7 | Half-moon 180 x 90 cm or XL 200 x 100 cm |
| English roulette | 6 to 8 | Rectangular 130 x 80 cm |
| Craps | 8 and more | Large rectangle, as long as possible |
| Boule, baccarat | 4 to 6 | Rectangular 130 x 80 cm |
Measure your table top before ordering: the mat should be slightly smaller than the top to lie flat, or exactly the size of the top if you intend to staple it under the edges.
Custom casino mat: for a club, a casino or a brand
Logo in the centre, your brand colours, the club name in the betting areas: all our casino layouts are available in a custom version printed on neoprene jersey. The artwork is created with you from your logo. It is the solution chosen by fun casino operators, associations and companies that offer evenings to their clients.
Looking after your casino mat
- Day to day: a soft brush or a low-power vacuum for felt, a damp sponge for neoprene jersey.
- Stains: dab without rubbing, with a little soapy water. No solvents, which attack the print.
- Storage: roll the mat, never fold it. A sharp crease on a neoprene mat will not come out.
- Rotation: if you have several tables, rotate the mats for even wear.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between an English and an American roulette mat?
The English roulette mat has a single zero (37 numbers), the American mat has a zero and a double zero (38 numbers). The mat must match the wheel you use. In Europe, single-zero roulette is played almost exclusively.
Which blackjack mat size for 7 players?
A 180 x 90 cm half-moon comfortably hosts 7 betting spots. The XL 200 x 100 cm size leaves more room for cards and chips.
Felt or neoprene for a casino mat?
Felt is the traditional, economical material, to lay or staple. Neoprene jersey is non-slip, washable and more durable: it is the best choice for regular use or fun casino events.
Can a casino mat be printed with my logo?
Yes. All layouts (roulette, blackjack, craps, poker, boule) exist in a custom version on neoprene jersey, artwork included.
