Dragons Poker Club: the L'Haÿ-les-Roses poker club equipped by Cartes Production

Categories : Blog , Clubs

Founded in 2019 and based in L'Haÿ-les-Roses, in the Val-de-Marne near Paris, the Dragons Poker Club (DPC) is one of those non-profit poker clubs that value friendliness just as much as competition. Affiliated with the Ligue Française de Poker, the club plays every Friday evening with equipment made by Cartes Production: custom ceramic poker chips and poker tables. Here is a closer look at one of our partner clubs.

A family club, open to all levels

The DPC describes itself as a family club: beginners, regular players and competitors sit down at the same table, whether to learn, improve or play to win. Camaraderie, the intellectual challenge and the atmosphere are all part of the friendly setting in which the association's members play. To join the club, you are offered a trial game, after which your membership is approved by the board.

The club's name carries its values. DRAGONS reads as an acronym of the French words for dignity, respect, friendliness, generosity, objectivity, nature and solidarity. The club also makes one point very clear: playing as an amateur does not mean playing badly. A player who wins a ticket or a package will always be a formidable opponent, backed by the whole DPC family.

Live championships, cash game and online

Every season, the DPC runs its own poker championships among its members:

  • MTT ranking (tournaments) split into two half-seasons, followed by an overall annual ranking
  • Cash game ranking over the whole season
  • MTT points system: 1 attendance point per round for every participant, plus bonus points for the top 7 places, adjusted according to the number of players
  • Cash game points system: every player starts with a stack of 200 chips, i.e. 200 points. The number of chips at the end of the night gives the number of points scored for that round

Alongside this, the club runs online tournaments on Winamax, its online partner. The format lets members keep playing together between two Fridays.

A regular presence at the LFP national finals

Thanks to its affiliation with the Ligue Française de Poker, the DPC takes part in inter-club competitions and sends players to the national final every year: Hendaye (season 12), Vals-les-Bains (season 13), Carnac (season 14) and Balaruc-les-Bains (seasons 15 and 16).

A committed club: charity tournaments for the Téléthon

The DPC organises charity freerolls in Évry in support of AFM-Téléthon, with 100% of donations going to the charity. The first one took place in December 2019, just weeks after the club was founded, and the event was held again every year until 2024.

The club's equipment: custom ceramic chips and poker tables

The Dragons Poker Club entrusted its equipment to Cartes Production, its equipment partner.

Ceramic poker chips in the club's colours

The DPC plays with custom ceramic poker chips made by Cartes Production. Ceramic allows printing across the entire surface of the chip: club logo, values, and a distinct colour for each denomination. The result is a unique chip set that cannot be mistaken for any other and can be read at a glance at the table. On its partners page, the club also highlights the very high quality of its chips.

Poker tables for the live rounds

Friday rounds are played on poker tables supplied by Cartes Production: oval format, folding legs, black armrests and a custom red and black cloth featuring the dragon logo. For a club that plays in a shared municipal hall, tables that can be set up and packed away quickly make a real difference at every round.
