A poker plaque is the rectangular chip used for high values. Where you would otherwise stack twenty round chips, a single plaque does the job: the table stays readable, stacks can be counted at a glance and the game takes on the feel of a private casino room. Ceramic or ABS, with or without values, catalogue range or a plaque custom-printed with your logo: here is how to choose your poker plaques, with comparisons, tables and budgets.
Poker plaque or round chip: what is a plaque for?
In casinos, plaques are reserved for high bets. At home or in a club, they play the same role:
- Reduce the number of chips on the table at the end of a tournament, when the blinds skyrocket.
- Spot big bets instantly in a cash game: a plaque placed in the middle is seen immediately.
- Complete an existing chip case with high values (25,000, 100,000…) without buying a whole new set.
- Add a casino feel: the rectangular format is associated with high-roller tables.
Plaques do not replace round chips, they complement them: round chips for low and medium values, plaques for the top of the pyramid.

Ceramic or ABS: which material to choose?
This is the first criterion: it determines the feel, the look and the budget.
| Criterion | Ceramic plaque | ABS plaque with metal insert |
|---|---|---|
| Unit price | €3.90 to €4.90 | €0.89 |
| Weight | 40 g, heavy, premium feel | 32 g, weighted by the metal insert |
| Design | Full-face print, detailed artwork (marble, mythology, banknotes) | Dice pattern, one colour per plaque |
| Printed value | Depending on the range: with or without value | No value |
| Durability | Good, protect from falls on hard floors | Very good, practically unbreakable |
| Customisation | Yes, front, back and edge | No |
| Best for | Demanding home games, clubs, tournaments, cash games | Beginners, events, large volumes on a small budget |
- Ceramic: the material used in casinos. Heavy and matte, with artwork printed across the whole surface, it offers the best look and feel in the hand and on the felt. It is our recommendation for any regular use.
- ABS: at €0.89 per plaque, the most economical way to equip several tables, an association or a casino event where plaques change hands a lot.
With or without a printed value?
- Plaques with values (100, 1,000, 25,000, 100,000, €5, €100…): no ambiguity at the table, ideal for structured tournaments and clubs where players change often.
- Plaques without values (colour or artwork only): you freely assign a value to each colour and adapt the structure to every game. Display a colour / value chart on the table.

For a tournament with occasional players, choose plaques with values. For a cash game among regulars, plaques without values offer more flexibility.

Custom ceramic poker plaques
For a club, a company or an event, the custom plaque replaces the catalogue artwork with your own. Our custom ceramic poker plaque in the 53 x 85 x 3.3 mm casino size is printed on the front, back and edge, with artwork perfectly aligned between both sides.
- Sublimation printing: the ink is embedded into the ceramic. The design does not wear off and the plaque cannot be counterfeited, a real plus for clubs that want to secure their values.
- Matte finish on the faces and edge, for the same feel and stacking as casino plaques.
- Full customisation: club logo, tournament name, values, corporate branding. You send your files after ordering, or we create the artwork for you.
- €8.90 per plaque, from 10 pieces, with a production time of about 4 weeks: order ahead for a tournament or an event with a fixed date.
Corporate gift, commemorative club plaque, an exclusive set of values for a tournament: it is the most direct way to give your games their own identity.

85 x 52 mm or 75 x 45 mm?
- 85 x 52 mm: the "credit card" size, the most common in casinos. Large reading surface, strong presence on the table. Marble, Euro, Greek Gods, Hong Kong Star ranges and custom plaques.
- 75 x 45 mm: more compact, it takes up less space in front of the player and is easier to handle in stacks. Crown of Laurel and Dice ranges.
Avoid mixing both sizes in the same game: stacks become unstable and counting takes longer.
How many poker plaques do you need?
Plaques are used for high values, so you need far fewer than round chips. Rule of thumb: 2 to 4 plaques per player and per high value, plus a reserve for colour-ups.
| Setup | Players | Values in plaques | Recommended quantity |
|---|---|---|---|
| Home cash game | 6 | 2 (e.g. €50 and €100) | 20 to 30 plaques |
| Home tournament | 8 to 10 | 3 (e.g. 25,000, 50,000, 100,000) | 30 to 40 plaques |
| Club, several tables | 20 or more | 4 to 5 | 60 plaques or more |
Budget: how much does a set of plaques cost?
| Quantity | Dice (ABS) | Crown of Laurel (ceramic) | Marble / Euro / Greek Gods (ceramic) | Custom (ceramic) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 20 plaques | €17.80 | €78.00 | €98.00 | €178.00 |
| 40 plaques | €35.60 | €156.00 | €196.00 | €356.00 |
| 60 plaques + aluminium case | €78.30 | €258.90 | €318.90 | €558.90 |
Catalogue plaques are sold individually: build your set value by value and complete it later without buying everything again.
Storing and carrying your plaques
Ceramic plaques deserve proper protection: loose in a bag, they knock against each other and get damaged. The aluminium case for 60 plaques has 3 separate compartments of 20 plaques each: one value per compartment, and your plaques stay organised and ready to play. It holds standard plaques up to 53 x 84.5 mm. Clasp and carrying handle.

Caring for your poker plaques
- Cleaning: a soft, slightly damp cloth, then dry immediately. No solvents or abrasive products, which damage the print.
- Storage: flat, in their case, away from moisture.
- Handling: ceramic does not like falls on tiled floors. Play on a mat, which also dampens the noise.
Complete your equipment
Plaques on a bare table lose half their effect. Pair them with our poker mats, a poker table and our poker chips for the low values.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between a poker plaque and a poker chip?
A plaque is rectangular and reserved for high values; a chip is round and used for low and medium values. Both are used together to limit the number of pieces on the table.
Ceramic or ABS for poker plaques?
Ceramic (40 g, full-face print) gives the casino look and suits regular use. ABS with a metal insert (32 g) is practically unbreakable and much cheaper: it suits events and large volumes.
How many poker plaques for a 10-player tournament?
Allow 30 to 40 plaques spread over 3 high values, i.e. 2 to 4 plaques per player and per value, plus a reserve for colour-ups during the tournament.
Can poker plaques be customised?
Yes. The custom ceramic poker plaque (53 x 85 mm) is printed on the front, back and edge by sublimation, with your logo, values or artwork, at €8.90 per plaque, from 10 pieces.
Can poker plaques be bought individually?
Yes, all catalogue plaques are sold individually, from €0.89 to €4.90. Only custom plaques require a minimum of 10 pieces.
